What
is Tango Sensodinamia®?
It
is a shared movement technique worked out through tango dance and
complemented with concepts from different approaches to bodily movement
disciplines. The most important ones are those taken from Moshe
Feldenkrais, Gerda Alexander and Susana Mildderman.
This
technique works with exercises inspired in Awareness Through
Movement by Feldenkrais for dancers to experiment subtle differences
of movement circulation through muscle and skeletal systems. As
a result of acquiring this movement skill, dancers are able to be
in contact with their own organic dancing needs, controlling their
bodily impulses voluntarily. This technique, then, avoids working
with pre-patterned movements based on established social models.
By
adding concepts from Eutonia by Gerda Alexander, we go deeper in
the movement expression enriching dance partners' tie among themselves
and with their environment. The possibility of both perceive and
modify the muscular tone and the energetic configuration of the
body as a whole allows dancers to work with emotions, perceiving
at the same time audience and partner’s emotions.
It
also works Rhythmic Expressive Gym by Susana Milderman, through
concepts that consider music as the main source of movement and
emotions.
Since
tango is a dace in which all body's energy centers are involved,
the relationship in couples optimizes consciousness. The shared
movement is a very powerful tool to improve both internal sensitivity
(auto-consciousness) and external sensitivity (consciousness of
the feedback with the environment).
Tango
sensodinamia®’s
aim is the learning and optimizing of tension/relaxation balance
in bodies following the dynamics proposed by music. It works toning
up and harmonizing the whole body.
What
is the technique that allows us to reach this feeling of relaxation
and self acceptance in our bodies?
Tango
sensodinamia®
is based on:
/Perceiving
active and passive instances in the movement in order to optimize
the effort of both our body and our partner’s.
/Constant
consciousness of the balance axis and the dynamics with our partner
to loose our body’s tensions, being able to sustain the
tie with our partner.
/The
help of natural forces to produce movement, considering all the
time active principles of gravity, anti-gravity forces and inertia.
/Active
perception of the movement’s haul through the muscle-joint
system, considering our partner as part of our own structure.
/The
most important aspect is that this proposal women should be actively
conscious of their role, collaborating with the active-passive
flow of movement; and men should learn to focus their own passive
moves within their dance to allow movement to haul the couple-unit
without tensions.
Who
can practice TS?
Everybody
can practice it, because this dance intends to focus on truth and
naturalness of movement and emotions through music. Its aim is to
expand sensitivity to be practiced by scene professionals who want
to widen their expressiveness, and by all those who want to enlarge
and improve vital conditions.
Practicing
TS contributes to improve our self-image, as well as our communication
with others from a comprehensive perspective. It gives us bodily
and emotional flexibility. It enlarges our range of possible reactions
in life.
I
developed this dance searching a harmonic balance, both individual
and with our environment, for that reason TS's ideal is a human
being centered in self-perception and, at the same time, in the
relationship with the rest of the leaving creatures.
